. It manages to simultaneously offer a table-style, old-school arcade game (awesome), real cloth napkins and excellent service. While the sidewalk patio was tempting, we opted for a seat inside and were relieved to find that the one room wasn’t crammed full of tables. The two of us infiltrated a giant booth that could have fit six comfortably, located right by a large painting on the wall of the Delta Queen (RIP). Our server, the only one there that day, came right over with menus and a smile. The menu items are mostly familiar sandwiches, salads and pizzas that feature fresh, high-quality ingredients.

One of the first restaurants to move onto Monmouth during downtown Newport's reinvigoration, Newport Pizza Co. is worth the trip if you're not a local. While its standard pizzas, with a chewy crust, are delightful, the standouts are its specialty pizzas, particularly the Cincinnatus: Imagine Cincinnati chili dip on a pizza, complete with melty cheddar cheese, cream cheese and chili.

When I mentioned NPC to Gus and Buddy, they both said they knew of it and heard it was really good. Who keeps that kind of information from their wife/mama?? Naturally, I told Gus we had to go there for dinner. As soon as possible. First things first. If you've ever been to Newport, then you know that parking is at a premium. Most places don't have their own parking, so you're left to try to find a spot on the street or in one of the pay-to-park lots. Good news! NPC has a dedicated parking lot!

If you’re looking for perfectly executed New York–style pizza outside of New York City, look no further. This neighborhood joint across the river on Newport’s main drag delivers the goods. The sauce? Awesomely zesty. The cheese? Just the right amount and flavor—with an excellent stretch factor. The toppings? Perfectly spaced and rationed. We loved the house special Monmouth: pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, mushroom, green pepper, and red onion, with a blend of mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheeses, all layered on a bed of red sauce and crispy but chewy crust. Though a bit on the divier side, the joint offers a nice selection of beer and wine and even outdoor sidewalk seating. It all comes together for an unexpectedly awesome pizza experience that you’ll want to enjoy again and again.

Great east coast style pizza at very good prices. I'm kinda a pizza snob, having grown up in NJ and NYC so love seeing old school pizza that matches my preference for thin crust. Ordered takeaway but service at pickup was super friendly. I usually have the bar set pretty low for pizza outside of my roots, but this was legit for sure. highly recommended!
